  • How do I get started with therapy?
    If you’re considering therapy, it’s important to know that you’re not alone. Many people seek therapy for a variety of reasons, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and more. Here are some steps you can take to get started: Identify your needs: Before you start looking for a therapist, it’s important to identify what you need help with. This can help you find a therapist who specializes in the area you need help with. Find a therapist: Once you’ve identified your needs, you can start looking for a therapist. TFS has a team of excellent therapists available to help. Schedule an appointment: Once you’ve found a therapist that meets your needs, schedule an appointment. During your first appointment, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your concerns and goals with the therapist. Be open and honest: Therapy is most effective when you’re open and honest with your therapist. Be prepared to share your thoughts and feelings with them so they can help you work through any issues you’re facing. Remember that finding the right therapist may take some time, but it’s worth the effort. Don’t be afraid to try out different therapists until you find one that feels like a good fit for you.
  • Do you accept medical insurace?
    At the momment we accept the insurances below but please contact us if yours differs as we are often adding new insurances to our list.   • Will I have a copay due at my session?
    After you speak with your clinician and a session is scheduled, you will be contacted and information regarding your insurance will be requested. Kamato billing company will verify your benefits and send you any payment due upon your first session.
  • Are there copays for virtual visits? Are there copays during the pandemic?
    There may still be copays for your visit even though it is virtual. This is specific to each insurance and you will be billed appropriately by Kamato billing company. If you have a question about your copay you may ask your clinician.
  • How will I pay my copay?
    Included in your intake packet will be a credit/debit card authorization form. You may have the clinician automatically deduct your copay after the visit or you can make a payment online.   • How long will it take for a therapist to be assigned to me?
    After you have provided your contact information and request for services, an administrative assistant will reach out to you and obtain additional information to match you with the best fit clinician (if you have a preference please indicate so). Your therapist will typically contact you within 5 business days.
  • How do I know if my therapist is a good fit?
    At the time of first contact and during intake your therapist should share a little about their professional background and you should feel free to ask some questions to determine if they are a good fit. Part of the therapeutic process is building a rapport with your clinician that starts within the first couple of visits. If you feel like you are not building that rapport you should discuss this with your clinician.
  • How often do I meet with my therapist?
    After intake is concluded you and your therapist will develop a treatment plan to address your specific needs. This will include discussing how often you should meet. Clients often meet weekly, bimonthly or monthly depending on need. However, if an urgent issue arises before your next scheduled meeting you may be able to schedule an appointment sooner.
  • Am I able to see someone in the office?
    At this time to maintain client and clinician safety and health individuals are not being seen in the office. Our virtual platform is both efficient and user friendly and will continue to be utilized.
  • How long is our initial/intake session?
    Intake Sessions are typically 60 minutes. Intake Assessments may need to be completed in 2 sessions. Intakes consist of questions about your background, what brings you to therapy and a discussion of your therapeutic goals and needs.
  • How long are sessions regularly?
    Typically, regular ongoing sessions are 45 minutes. In cases of emergency urgent appointments may be shorter in duration depending on need and are usually 15-30 minutes.
  • What happens if I miss a session?
    At the time of intake a Missed Appointment Policy form is completed which indicates it is best to contact your provider 24 hours ahead of time if you anticipate not making your appointment to avoid a $25 missed appointment fee. Multiple missed appointments without communication with your provider could result in termination from the practice.
